About Us
It Began in a Backyard Garden
Bob and Sue Burnell are Midwest natives who met in Florida during college, then went their separate ways. They reunited many years later and started a life together in Houston, Texas. In 2005, Sue planted habanero peppers next to the zinnias. When the peppers ripened, she picked one for Bob to try. After quenching the burn, he said, "we should make hot sauce with these!" And so it began.
Texas-Based Family Business
Production moved from our Houston kitchen to a commercial food facility in 2018, and we supervise every batch. We retain 100% ownership of Scoville Warming products through parent company Burnell Brands. We are partners in the Texas Department of Agriculture's Go Texan Program.
Giving Back
Along with heat, you gotta have heart. We donate a percentage of the profits from our business to causes related to education, health, human and animal welfare, including Cy-Hope, Cypress Assistance Ministries, the CyFair Educational Foundation, Huffman Education Foundation, Huffman Sports Association, the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer's Association, Rotary Club of Cypress-Fairbanks, Between Jobs Ministry, God's Garage, FFA, Texas EquuSearch, Houston Pets Alive and RPM Pet Rescue.
